A home is made up of many individual parts and systems, each part being supplied and installed by individual people. No one pays attention to what anyone else did, just to what they themselves are doing. So many different parts and people can mask many problems- perhaps the previous person adjusted the insulation to accommodate a component and neglected to replace it. The following person covers it up and no one knows about it until months or years down the road when a large problem becomes apparent! A small fix, early on may prevent a large expensive repair later. And then there are the repairs, fixes and renovations done by previous homeowners. Many people think a quick fix is good enough. Many people are wrong. Think of a home inspection as preventative maintenance. A thorough home inspection with all the right tools may pay great dividends down the road.
